16th June 2025 – Lisbon Geographic Society – “Adriano Moreira” Auditorium

The Observatory of Digital Ecosystems and Infrastructures (OEID) in colaboration with JTF SMART Cables and Lisbon Geographic Society (SGL) intend to promote an academic discussion about the SMART CABLES contribution for science (oceanography, geophysics, environment, climate change, etc.) and society (mitigating the impact of natural disasters and contribution to security)in Portugal.

This event will serve to debate and share the strategies of various actors, with a view to obtaining the best possible use of the data collected by the future Atlantic CAM system as a SMART Cable, and this should serve as a strong contribution to establishing in Portugal a node of the global seabed observation network. On the benefits of SMART Cables, with the participation of various speakers, the conference program addresses various topics such as sovereignty, technology, the economy and security.
