The terms cyberspace and cybernetics, as well as their derivatives, are often used somewhat interchangeably at
national level.

At the strategic level, Portugal approved a National Cyberspace Security Strategy in 2019 and Brazil a National Cybersecurity Strategy in 2020.

So, with a view to clarifying the use of the terms cyberspace and cybernetics in Portugal, at the political, strategic and management levels, we present a reflection.”
